Rainbow Room Visit!

We started our day with calendar.  Kiersten and Lia were our calendar friends!  After calendar, we played Top-It with numbers all the way up to 22!  Then, we had math explorations.  We got to play with geoboards for the first time!  We also played with base-10 blocks and pattern blocks.

We read a story today about apples.  We are very excited to go on our field trip to Strite's Orchard next Wednesday.  (We have 7 days until our trip!)  We learned that apples come in three colors; green, yellow, and red.  Inside the apples there are seeds!  You can make apple pie and applesauce with apples! YUM!   We talked about the right way to pick an apple off of a tree!

In reading we did the letter Gg.  We read the rhyme time poem called, Go Get the Goat!  We also learned about syllables.   We talked about verbs.  A verb is an action word.  Here are some examples: jog, ride, swim and dive.

This afternoon we went to computer.  We visited the Rainbow Room!  We are excited to be blogging for the first time together as a class.

Everyday we will post compliments!  Here you go!

"My friends are so nice to me!  They are the best friends I could ever have." Love, Cassie

"Landon is a great friend." Love, Alejandro

"I like Miss Yarzabek." Love, Jillian

"Jordyn is a nice friend and Miss Yarzabek." Love, Ashley

"Miss Yarzabek is a great teacher and my friends are great too." Love, Nathan

Have a great night everyone! Love, Miss Yarzabek
