We had another busy day today! First we read, The Gym Teacher from the Black Lagoon! Then we talked about the story Chrysanthemum. We are trying really hard to learn each others names. We played Name Bingo with all the names of friends in Room 28! It was a lot of fun!
We LOVE using the smarboard! The site that we have been using is ABCya.com. It's fun to practice matching our upper and lower case letters.
Room 28 loves sharing their Me Bags. We are learning so much about one another.
This afternoon we did centers. We completed small activities with our friends and rotated around the room.
Tomorrow, we are going to learn about the letter Mm! Have a great night everyone!

First day - hooray!
We had a great first day of school!
We started our day by doing some morning work. We put our bookbags away, give Miss Yarzabek our folders and then sat in our seats! Once everyone arrived, Miss Yarzabek read a silly story: Amelia Bedia's First Day of School! We all laughed a lot! We can't wait to read more Amelia Bedelia stories!
Then, we had cafeteria practice. We learned how to act in the cafeteria, how to get our food and where to sit! It was fun practicing!
Today, we shared 3 Me Bags. We learned about Camryn, Alex and James D.
At 11:30 we went to our very first recess and at 12 we ate lunch! Today's lunch was cheese stix but most of us packed our lunches.
After lunch, we talked about classroom rules. We read the story, David Goes to School! David is a very crazy character! He did some very silly things in his classroom!
We had our very first music class today. Mrs. Kisner was very nice! We ended our day by watching a story on tumblebooks. We really liked taking the quiz afterwards.
We had an AWESOME first day! We can't wait to come back tomorrow!!!

Happy Friday!

I can't believe we only have 2 weeks until school starts! I am so excited to meet all of my new first grade friends! I am headed into the classroom today to start setting things up.

Cinco De Mayo
Today we learned about Cinco de Mayo, a Mexican holiday!
We were very busy at math centers, reading Henry and Mudge and writing our diary entries. We had a very productive and busy day!
We are very excited that Nathan is visiting us at school tomorrow! We have missed him so much! Looking forward to fun Friday!

Messiah College
Our blog looks awesome! Thanks to Tiffany Choate for setting this up for Room 28!
We were very busy today! We went on our field trip to Messiah College. Because of the rain, we had to do all of our activities inside. First, we created worm habitats. Most of us touched a worm! Yuck! We learned about the water cycle and what we need to survive. Then we went to the Africa museum. We learned so many neat things about leopards, cheetahs, hippos, elephants, etc. We learned a lot and asked so many great question!
Next it was time for lunch! We ate in a dorm. It was fun visiting a college campus. Finally we visited the North American museum. We learned about animals like bears, moose, and beavers. We love learning about animals in Room 28!
Our bus ride home seemed very long and we were very sleepy! We had so much fun together! What a great day! Stay tuned for pictures posted on our wiki!
